What's New?

Alright, so it’s been a week, and now it’s time for me to rant about a tonne of stuff that I have had on my mind lately. I am going to divide it up into sections, so it’ll be easier for you to follow/read whatever part you want.  So let’s begin.

Personal Advice
So something totally funny happened last week, and it great that I have friends who love me. So this is what happened. So I was wearing this cute black dress—this is key in the story. Anyway, I go to my 3rd class, and then sit down in my usual seat. But then when I went to get up I got stuck. So I was like, what the hell? Then I check my bottom, and noticed something white on it. I thought it was masking tape, though when I went to remove it, it was gooey. It was gum; chewed gum... which was stuck to my butt. So then I started to freak out, because I still had another class to go to, and gum takes a while to get rid of. So then my friend beside me asks what’s wrong. I replied “I have gum, stuck to my BUTT!” She of course started to laugh a little, and then rushes to my teacher and tells him we have a mini crisis. So obviously I grab the back of my dress, and we hurry to the bathroom. So my lovely, dear, sweet, and amazing friend picks off the gum from the back of my dress. The situation was less disgusting because we were laughing our heads off. Anyways, we went down to the office to get a safety pin, and covered the giant white splotch on the back of the dress, and then I survived the next hour or so.
I didn’t think I was going to actually get the gum out because the dress was made out of cotton. So I tried the method of putting ice on it—though it didn’t really work. So then I stuck it in the freezer, and that didn’t work really. But then my dad decided to help me out. And we tried vegetable oil. It was like magic. The gum came right off. So other people may say the freezer trick would work, but it wouldn’t, unless you keep the whole blob of gum on the clothing. So yeah, Vegetable oil works, and then wash it after. Though I haven’t tried this method on coloured clothing, so be wary. Though it did work on my black dress, and there is no oil stain, :)

 FASHION
Alright, so this section is going to include a bunch of stuff.
First of all, I would like to say that I am addicted to ELLE Canada. So last week my friend (she got me the subscription) told me she received her November issue. And I was like, Oh, well I didn’t get mine. So when I went home I checked my mailbox, but no magazine. Then a few days later, I still hadn’t gotten it. This started to worry me, because there is no way that my two year subscription was over, it hasn’t even been a year yet. So then I sent an email to them, because I was totally worried. I checked my account and it said I didn’t even have a current subscription. But luckily, the next day I got my magazine, :D so all the worrying for nothing. Oh, and my November issue here has a very nice colour scheme, so I am going to use it on my blog.
In my little city here, there are a lot of Fashionistas. I love it. I just love people who follow fashion trends. I wish I could be that person, but fashion can get costy. Personally, I don’t even have a job, so the pieces I have in my wardrobe will last you a long time. Here are some things that are must haves and won’t cost you that much.
1.       So the number one item is jeans. Whether it be skinny jeans or flares (not the ones from the 70s) jeans are a must have. And you don’t even need that many pairs. If you take care of your clothes, they will last you forever! This will only be really effective if you’re not growing anymore; your size is the same. Oh, and I am not talking about $100 jeans. My jeans I wear cost 20 bucks. This is key when it comes to affordable fashion.
2.       One tone shirts. These shirts are so timeless and they will never go out of style. They can be T-shirts, long sleeves, anything.
3.       If you’re going for a classy look, skirts are a must-have. Again, one toned, so that you can wear them time and time again. You shouldn’t be spending more than 30 bucks, depending on your budget.
4.       Dresses! Ah, dresses, I remember the time I would never be caught dead in one, but now I want more! There are so many types of dresses, just pick one that works for you. And you can find one under 30 dollars.
5.       CARDIGANS. They used to be meant for your grandmother, and now you can’t get enough of them. Cardigans are so versatile, and you can wear one with anything. They look especially cute when paired with a little dress and tights, with ankle booties! <3 (this is my new fave look) I have like three cardigans, each one was under 20 dollars, ;)
6.       Everyone has those days when they don’t want to waste time looking for something to wear. This is where the hoodie comes into play. Hoodies don’t have to be big, and ugly, and gangster. You can get a cute one toned one, and wear them over anything, without looking awful. There is nothing wrong with plain clothing.
7.       Chic graphic tees.  I try to cut back on wearing T-shirts because they are so casual. Though if you find the right one, you’ll look amazing. I suggest going to Jacob Connexion, they have really cute clothing there and it should be under 30 dollars, though if it’s just a T-shirt, don’t waste your money, I would pay like 15 dollars.
8.       And one last thing. Camis are really cute, and the right one will look amazing under a cardigan or a hoodie. Make sure you get one without the 4 inches of lace on the bottom.  Those are dated.
Voila! 8 must have pieces for your wardrobe. And remember, don’t forget the accessories! Oh and before I forget, some great places to shop for these are at: Winners, American Eagle (SALES RACK), Cost Blanca, Urban Planet, everywhere, just look out for those deals!
DO
Things that are in right now are leather jackets. A tailored one vs. The baggy biker one is amazing for the weather we’re having right now. Pair it with some suede or leather booties, and you’re set. The whole look which is in is a rocker-chic, so lots of black. It’s attitude, not emo. Make-up wise, natural is the way to go. No overbearing eye makeup, just a natural look, with flushed cheeks, bronzer for that healthy glow, nude lips, and minimal mascara. Knits are also a must, they are great for the winter. A over-sized knit sweater would go great with a leather belt at the wait or hips depending on the length.
DON’T
Today when I was on the bus, I saw this girl that was clearly struggling with her look. I totally just resisted the impulse to ask her where she learned to do her make-up. Clown College?  Yeah it was that bad. She totally was trying to look all gangster, but failed. The hot pink coat ruined it. Her sideways baseball hat, did not work. Her whole look was devastating. Please, please, don’t dress like that people. You’ll hurt my eyes. And more importantly, embarass yourself.

Another thing is if you’re going to choose to wear leggings, make sure you have a body to go with it, especially if you’re not covering the bottom. I have seen way too many girls do the leggings, but have a saggy bum. That is a no-no. There is nothing wrong with toning those buns for a much more appreciated look. Squats every day will help you out if you can’t make the gym.

Reviews
So I have an obsession with skin care products. I think I have spent all of my money on skin care. So here are some reviews on products I use(d).
1.       Vichy NORMADERM Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care. So the name and the ad did it for me. I went out there are bought it. So does it work? Well for the 30 dollars I spent on it, the performance is average. I have a lot of marks on my face, so I have tried everything. Let’s just say it makes an okay moisturizer, and prevents your acne. It will not however make your scars disappear. It will just make them less visible. I wouldn’t recommend you buy this product, I mean I thought it worked, but it’s okay. I do however recommend the other NORMADERM products like the astringent and the cleanser. So this product gets 5/10. It did what it was supposed to do, but I was expecting more for the amount of money I paid.

 2.       Bio Oil. I really like this product. It contains natural ingredients, and is like magic. I have been using it for a week or so now, and I have seen improvement. Bio Oil is used for many things like scars, stretch marks, uneven skin tone (this is important to me, since I am darker), and it hydrates skin. Bio Oil works better than the product mentioned above, and I paid around 20 dollars for it since it was on sale. So I definitely like this product. I use it on my face, and the scars are becoming less visible, and my skin just looks amazing now. I give it a 9.5/10. It’s amazing, and perfect for pregnancies... and other stuff.

Videos
Here are some things I found interesting.
AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL CYCLE 13
When I found out that this cycle was going to include petite people, I was ecstatic. I should totally be on it! Anyways for we Canadians, we can watch the episodes on CTV. They are good quality, so go here.
Also The Vampire Diaries series is also great. I totally recommend it. Though it will make you HATE Twilight. You're probably like, OMG, I can never hate Twilight?!?!? Well this will prove you wrong. Stephanie Meyer needs to get a brain. I mean I used to love Twilight, it was a cute love story, though when I started watching Vampire Diaries (which was a book created before Twilight) it showed me that she copyied the entire story. All of the ideas from Twilight, are like the same in Vampire DIaries. So awful. Plus Stephanie Meyer sucked at writing the book. And it just got even more awful as the series progressed. Huh. Well New Moon is comming out, with that amazing hottie Taylor Lautner. I am in love with him. So hands off. ;)
