New School, New City, New Life

It’s been such a long time since I posted anything on this blog. The last time I posted was in March. So I have eight months to account for.

Alright so around that time I was prepping for exams, universities, and prom. All was awesome. I decided to go to Carleton University for September since I didn’t get into Ryerson, and York I heard wasn’t that great of a school. Also I really wanted to get out of Kingston, so that’s why I also ditched Queens.

University is great. It’s everything I expected. And I have a lot of fun. I think I’ve changed a lot since leaving high school-- both physically and mentally.  And now my first term is done. I had one exam, which was for ANTH1001. Never take this class unless you like anthropology. I took it because I thought it would be interesting and an easy mark. Boy was I wrong. Yeah, I’m not even going to talk about the class. And don’t get me wrong, the professor was amazing. She would play a song at the start of every class. On the last day she played Gasolina and I just wanted to start dancing. But that would be weird… Anyways, I didn’t like the class because there was only two assignments, a midterm and the final exam. I didn’t do so well on the first assignment because my TA failed to give the right instructions, and I couldn’t really do anything about that. I never got back the second assignment… So I probably should see when and where to get it… Anyways I’m glad the first half of the year is over and now I’m looking forward to the second. Time really does fly.
I’ve been really bad lately. I don’t have a job at the moment, but I still manage to spend my money like I do. Since going to school, I’ve bought a lot of accessories from Forever21 and contacts, and Hunters (which I love), and this adorable furry hat from American Eagle. Oh yeah and I got my nose pierced, and I go clubbing every weekend.

So my New Year’s resolution is to be studious, but still have my fun. Which will be easier for me to manage since I want to join a sorority. I had rushed in September, but I was doing it for the wrong reasons, so now I am back, and better than ever because I learned my lessons. So I can keep the blog updated on that as well. Though I think I’m supposed to be very secretive about it…

MUSIC
Since going away to uni, I’ve found myself listening to a lot of Hip Hop and R&B and Rap. I still listen to my techno—and I have the greatest party playlist if I say so myself. I left Kingston only having two hours of songs on it. Now there is like seven. But yeah, I just thought I would give my thoughts on Drake’s new album Take Care.

This album is amazing. And I’m not just saying that because of all the hype that surrounds him. The songs on the album are actually decent. He spoke about his album and how it tells a story, and while listening to it, you can definitely hear it. You can watch the interview in the video below. Also the order of the songs is perfect—they mesh well.
I was just re-watching the video and he seems a bit cocky. But that’s okay. The album is great, I really like the songs: Marvin’s Room, Doing It Wrong, Crew Love, Shot for Me, and HYFR.
I need to get new headphones. The bass sucks in the one’s I’m using now. I’m thinking red Beats?

FILM
So even though I go to uni, I find myself with a lot of free time. And when I’m not hitting up the gym, working on the playlist, or working… (who am I kidding?) I’m watching movies. So the most recent one I saw was Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Vampires Suck. They were shitty…  So I’ll talk about Friends With Benefits.
The movie starred Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis. I was surprised because Timberlake can act--though throughout the whole time I’m just thinking about his awful blonde hair from his running with N’Sync. The movie was cute, and you pretty much know the storyline before you start. These two people decide to be friend with benefits, nothing emotional—then they start falling for each other. And them bam, they end up together.

This is kind of off-topic but Drake makes a point that when people are together, they don’t consider themselves dating, but yet they don’t see other people. Is it that people are really afraid of commitment nowadays? Cause really, you don’t really hear the words boyfriend or girlfriend. People are just “fuck-buddies.” And if you don’t do this, you’re prolly just going to end up alone. The world is so messed up nowadays.

But back to the movie, I recommend it for a Friday night. There enough sex scenes in there that you’ll forget you’re lonely.

FASHION
So personally, I think I have been staying on top of the fashion scene. Since it’s winter, and that holiday season—it’s perfect for sequins and sparkles.

This is an Assymmetrical Sequin Dress from Forever21. You can find it here: http://canada.forever21.com/Product/Product.aspx?BR=F21&Category=dress&ProductID=2083316650&VariantID=
It’s really pretty for the holiday season and you’ll definitely be turning heads with it. The only thing is I don’t really like the long sleeve on it. The length or something about it is kinda off in the picture.

This sequined corset dress is from Amercian Eagle. It comes in a wine type colour and blue. Again very cute for holiday parties. And I really like the corset looks. I’ve noticed they’ve become common for everyday looks. You can find the dress here: http://www.ae.com/web/browse/product.jsp?productId=0394_9611_020&catId=cat1320034

On another note lately I’ve been really into crop tops. I think at first I thought they were stupid, because it’s like half a shirt, but if you have the body for it then hell, go for it! They are really cute for parties or casual wear. I prefer to wear them out.

Alright so I think I made this blog post long enough. I think I’ll work on a new layout for the site too. So until next time—stay thirsty my friends!
